Welcome to our newest residents, Balou and Diago, our new Kinkajous. These beautiful boys are rehomes. Kinkajous are also known as Honey Bears from the color of their thick fur and bear like ears. Also, for their long tongue that they raid bee hives of their honey in nature. They love the sweet stuff 🍯🐝! They do not make good pets and many get rehomed once they have reached maturity.

They are known for being nocturnal and spend most of their time in the trees foraging for fruits, insects and even small animals like frogs.

Kinkajous have a vicious bite and have bear like claws on their feet made for climbing trees. They have a prehensile tail used to help balance and hold onto branches while they eat. While they look similar to a monkey, they are actually part of the raccoon family. They have a very similar diet to the Spider Monkeys. These boys are going to have a wonderful life with us here at the sanctuary! Keep posted to our YouTube channel for updates on their enclosure build!!
